Company 5th Battalion, 1st Division, A.I.F., 21 October, 1914 to 24 April, 1915, describing: his voyage on the "Orvieto" from Melbourne to Alexandria; training and sightseeing in Egypt; and embarkation and preparation for landing at Gallipoli. Also: 3 small portrait photographs (including two of soldiers in uniform); silk postcard "Long live the allies"; and gift tin in which diary was kept.
